Next year, Ukraine will receive 40 billion euros in military aid from NATO

Jens Stoltenberg reiterated the Allies' intention to provide Ukraine with stable and long-term military aid next year with a “minimum amount” of 40 billion euros, which should enable Ukraine to effectively defend itself against Russian aggression.

Jens Stoltenberg stated this today in Oslo during a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, which began simultaneously with the opening of the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the Ramstein Air Base, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

At our NATO summit in Washington, allies made decisions to ensure long-term support for Ukraine… NATO allies have pledged at least 40 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine over the next year. And to maintain this support in the long term, it is necessary to ensure that Ukraine can defend itself,” said the head of the alliance.

He recalled that during the NATO summit in Washington in July, the Alliance committed to coordinating and providing international security assistance to Ukraine. For this purpose, a special NATO command will be established in Wiesbaden. At the same time, a logistics center will be set up in the eastern part of the Alliance to deliver this assistance to Ukraine.

Jens Stoltenberg stressed that these efforts are aimed at further strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities in the face of ongoing Russian aggression.

As previously reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will personally attend a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Germany for the first time on Friday, September 6, bringing together defense chiefs and senior military officials from nearly 50 countries.
