Are Hozier and Hana Mayeda a couple?

Their romance came to light after fans found an Instagram post from Hana from July 2023 earlier this month. In a vacation photo dump from Italy, an eagle-eyed fan noticed a familiar face on one slide and asked, “Is that Hozier on slide 3?” It seemed like a simple question, but the answer was anything but.

In September 2024, over a year after the post was published, Hozier cleared up the mystery with a comment. He confirmed that Hana was indeed his girlfriend, but also had a friendly request for fans.

Hozier's comment, which has since been deleted, read:

“It's about waiting for the curfew to end. Now that that's cleared up, I would feel good if you could refrain from having such a conversation on my girlfriend's personal page. It's completely unfounded and feels just as insensitive and disrespectful as it would to anyone else. I appreciate the privacy we want to keep between ourselves.”

Hana's heart emoji in response to Hozier's comment added even more fuel to the fire of the dating scene and made it crystal clear that the two are indeed a couple.

On September 4, Hana posted on her Instagram stories, seemingly to Hozier's fans. “Hi everyone, it's Hana. Just a quick message to thank you for all your kindness and decency on the internet. It was much appreciated.”

Although Hozier has always preferred to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, he has shared his thoughts on public relationships.

In an interview with The Telegraph Last year, he mentioned the challenges of maintaining privacy, saying, “It would be a shame if I couldn't sit in a bar with friends… There's something wonderful about watching people interact with each other and witnessing the world. That's very difficult when you walk through a door and feel like people are watching you. So yeah, I keep my head down.”

Who is Hana Mayeda?

Hana, whose full name is Katherine Hanae Mayeda, was born on November 19, 1986, in Claremont, California, to a Japanese-American father and an American mother. She is a Scorpio.

The 37-year-old has been a model for decades and has worked with brands such as Victoria's Secret, American Eagle Outfitters, Covergirl and many more. She is represented by the Marilyn Agency and previously worked as Director of Development at English in Mind, according to her LinkedIn page. She also has a degree from the University of San Diego. In addition, she has also worked as a yoga instructor.
