Ravens' Marlon Humphrey fuels rivalry with Travis Kelce after $100 million podcast deal: “He has to pay for it”

Marlon Humphrey has bad blood with Travis Kelce before the 2024/2025 NFL season.

The 28-year-old Baltimore Ravens player made a joking dig at the 34-year-old Kelce before his team's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday, September 5, while discussing the success of his and Jason Kelce's “New Heights” podcast.

“I pray that I can take action against him because he tried to take everything away from me. He tried to take everything away from me,” Humphrey cheekily said on the Sunday, Sept. 1 episode of his podcast “Punch Line” when asked if Travis' fame as a podcaster was a motivation for their confrontation. “He needs to pay for that. He needs to pay for what he did to the podcast space. He tried to eliminate us, and frankly, that's not right.”

Mention Travis' girlfriend, Taylor SwiftHumphrey continued: “I don't care who he goes out with. … September [5]It will be pod against pod and we will see which height is higher.”

Humphrey further noted that Travis is “actually a cool guy” off the football field before joking to his co-host: Jack Settleman that the Chiefs tight end is “just football scum.” The sportsman also hinted that he would ask the Chiefs tight end if he and Swift, 34, could appear on the “Punch Line” podcast.

“That would give us some numbers,” he explained, adding: “Fuck them – unless [Taylor] really want to participate.”

Late last month, it was announced that Travis and Jason, 36, had signed a $100 million deal with podcast studio Wondery for the rights to “New Heights.” According to The Hollywood ReporterWondery acquires worldwide distribution rights to the podcast and its past episodes and has the right to create international adaptations of the show.

“We couldn't be more excited to partner with Wondery for the next phase of 'New Heights,'” the brothers said in a statement. “We love this show and the fan base that has grown with us over the past two seasons. Wondery understands the shared vision and will provide a wealth of experience and resources to guide us to 'New Heights'! Through this partnership, we will create some groundbreaking moments together. We look forward to getting started on Season 3 – see you soon, 92%ers!”

Swift cheered on her boyfriend and his teammates at many of the team's games, including their win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in February.
