Joe Rogan returns to broadcast team for historic UFC 306 card at Las Vegas Sphere

The UFC 306 broadcast team is ready for the historic event at The Sphere in Las Vegas and plans to celebrate Mexican Independence Day all night long.

After missing UFC 305 in Australia due to not travelling to international tournaments, Joe Rogan returns to serve as co-commentator alongside UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier. As usual, Jon Anik will be handling the live commentary for the event.

In the arena, Megan Olivi will be in charge of reporting, while Din Thomas will serve as sideline coach throughout the broadcast on the ESPN networks, including the pay-per-view ESPN+.

UFC officials confirmed the broadcast plans to MMA Fighting on Thursday.

While the broadcast team is largely the same at every major pay-per-view event, this card is not a typical UFC show, as elaborate production schedules are developed around the Sphere.

With giant LED screens surrounding the circular arena, the UFC production team, in coordination with ESPN, plans to present a completely different look for the pay-per-view, which starts next Saturday night in Las Vegas.

The fights on the card will also be shown against different backgrounds throughout the show, with LED screens also being used when the action takes place in the Octagon.

UFC CEO Dana White recently announced that the promoter has invested more than $20 million in the event, which is an unprecedented investment for a single pay-per-view. It is likely that this will be the first and only card that UFC will produce at the Sphere, as the company still has a relationship with MGM, which owns and operates the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

UFC 306 will feature two title fights: Sean O'Malley will defend his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili, and in the co-main event, Alexa Grasso will face Valentina Shevchenko for the flyweight title.
