Aryna Sabalenka has won 12 matches in a row, including defeating Jessica Pegula in the final of the Cincinnati Open.

The Belarusian suffered her last defeat in the third round of the Canadian Open against American Amanda Anisimova, who also lost to Pegula later in the competition.

Pegula, meanwhile, has won 15 of her last 16 matches, including victory at the Canadian Open last month.

Sabalenka leads the two players' head-to-head 5-2, but Pegula's two victories came on hard courts, including in windy conditions at last year's WTA Finals.

If she wins, Sabalenka would win her third Grand Slam title and become only the fourth player in the last ten years to win multiple Majors in one season, after Serena Williams, Angelique Kerber and Iga Swiatek.

Pegula, meanwhile, would be the tenth American woman to win the US Open and the first Asian-American woman to win a major singles title in the Open Era.
