Germany – Hungary 5:0 LIVE – UEFA Nations League result: Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz score for Germany

GERMANY BEATS HUNGARY FIVE TIMES

Jamal Musiala scored a solo dream goal and Germany won 5-0 against Hungary, celebrating a successful start to the UEFA Nations League in Düsseldorf.

Niclas Füllkrug, Florian Wirtz, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Kai Havertz also scored for Julien Nagelsmann’s team on this merciless evening.

Germany put Hungary under pressure from the start and after a goal-line clearance by Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai and a missed one-on-one chance by Füllkrug, the West Ham striker made amends and put the hosts ahead with a tap-in inside the six-yard box.

Havertz had two chances to double Germany's lead before half-time. First, his wild ball bounced off the crossbar and onto the wrong side of the goal line. Just before half-time, he fired a curling shot wide of the post.

Germany finally scored a second goal after an hour when Wirtz found Musiala on the halfway line. The Bayern Munich superstar fought his way through his own half, outdistanced two defenders and then masterfully slotted the ball home.

The hosts now began to stumble and soon scored their third goal. Musiala returned the favour by setting up Wirtz, who slotted the ball past Peter Gulacsi.

Pavlovic added a fourth goal before Havertz's persistence finally paid off as he scored the three points from the penalty spot.
