Texas State 49-10 UTSA (September 7, 2024) Match Report

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Jordan McCloud ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Texas State to a 49-10 victory over UTSA on Saturday.

McCloud completed 18 of 27 passes for 309 yards and had one interception. He added 30 yards on the ground, provided the game's first points with a 17-yard run and added a 2-yard run later in the first quarter for a 14-3 lead.

A pair of yard-long touchdowns helped Texas State (2-0) take a 35-3 halftime lead. Chris Dawn Jr. caught a pass at the 39-yard line and turned it into a 46-yard touchdown, increasing the lead to 21-3. Lincoln Pare burst through the line and scored a 45-yard touchdown and a 32-point halftime lead.

Pare rushed for 109 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns. Dawn caught five balls for 150 yards and scored two touchdowns.

The Bobcats managed 504 yards of offense, the Roadrunners 334.

Owen McCown started at quarterback and Eddie Lee Marburger took over in the second half for UTSA (1-1). Marburger scored a touchdown and an interception.

The Roadrunners had won all five previous meetings.
