Tyreek Hill is briefly detained in a traffic accident before the season opener

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was briefly arrested for a traffic violation on Sunday as he entered Hard Rock Stadium, hours before his team was scheduled to open the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

A video posted on social media site X shows Hill lying face down on the ground while police officers placed his hands behind his back and appeared to handcuff him.

Hill has since been released and is preparing for the game against the Jaguars, said his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

In a statement, the Dolphins said Hill arrived safely at the stadium.

“This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was stopped and briefly detained by police for a traffic accident approximately one block from the stadium,” the team said in a statement. “He has since been released. Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer assistance. Tyreek and all other players involved arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today's game.”
