New wide receiver Jerry Jeudy leaves Cowboys game due to leg injury

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (3) talks with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (2) before an NFL preseason football game at Cleveland Browns Stadium, Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy left the Cowboys' game in the final seconds of the third quarter. Jeudy grabbed the back of his leg before walking to the medical tent.

The Browns traded Jeudy in the offseason and gave him a modest contract extension before he played a single snap for the team. Jeudy played well in his debut. The receiver had three receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown. The Browns offense struggled with Deshaun Watson at quarterback.

Watson played awfully in his first game back from his shoulder injury. The quarterback is still extremely slow on the field and his passing is inconsistent. Watson made a few passes to open receivers during the game. Because of his play, the Browns offense only scored 10 points in the first three quarters.

Jeudy played well considering his quarterback had trouble throwing the ball. A receiver can easily be limited by an inaccurate quarterback. Hopefully the receiver can return to the team healthy.
