Former Notre Dame star scores first touchdown of the year for the Los Angeles Rams

It wasn't the fastest start for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football against the Detroit Lions, but once they got the hang of it, they certainly made it exciting in the 2024 season opener.

The Lions had controlled most of the game, but with 3:33 left in the third quarter and trailing 17-3, former Notre Dame star running back Kyren Williams brought the Rams within one touchdown of the hosts. Williams found the end zone with a two-yard touchdown run – watch the highlight below.

The Lions defense held Williams in check for most of the night, as he completed 18 carries but only managed 50 total yards. Williams also caught three passes but only managed four yards.

The Rams finally took the lead in the fourth quarter, but a Lions field goal forced overtime and Detroit scored in overtime with a touchdown run by David Montgomery to secure the season-opening victory.
