Brian Daboll: Putting Daniel Jones on the bench “is out of the question for me”

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones did not make a triumphant return to the lineup on Sunday.

Jones tore his ACL after a poor game early last season, but the Giants used him as a starter this season and his first day back on the field was rough. Jones threw two interceptions and failed to lead the Giants to a touchdown in a 28-6 home loss to the Vikings.

Jones completed 22 of 42 passes and ran for 15 yards six times on a day when it seemed like the Giants didn't have the right answers to their offensive problems. So it was no surprise that head coach Brian Daboll was asked if he was considering a quarterback change. It doesn't sound like that's in the cards right now, though.

“We will look at everything. That is not what I have in mind,” Daboll said at his press conference.

The Giants are in Washington next weekend, and another poor performance against a division opponent will not exactly reinforce the idea that Jones will end up being the right answer for the offense.
