The fight between eagle and crocodile for a new hunt ends with an unexpected twist Video

A wildlife enthusiast in South Africa's Kruger National Park documented an encounter between an eagle and a crocodile, both fighting over a fresh catch. However, the incident ended with an unexpected twist.

Gavin Ellard and his family decided to spend a long weekend at the Pafuri Border Rest Camp in the park in August. While they were enjoying the camp's pool, they heard the babbling of the Luvuvhu River, which was not far from the site.

Ellard, who had spotted the crocodile in the meantime, decided to record the video. Little did he know that a rare moment in nature awaited him when he filmed the encounter between eagle and crocodile. Latest Sightings shared the video on YouTube.

The crocodile had just started a new hunt and was enjoying it when an eagle swooped down and snatched the reptile's food in an instant. What worked to the eagle's disadvantage, however, was that the crocodile's food was too heavy to carry, as the bird had difficulty flying away with it.

The eagle tried with all its might to grab the food, but its weight eventually pulled it into the water. The bird panicked because it knew trouble was coming. The crocodile was also close behind the eagle because it was determined not to give up its food.

But the eagle somehow managed to reach the river bank and was about to celebrate, not knowing that an unexpected turn of events was about to take place.

Just when the eagle thought he was out of danger, a piece of meat from the food got stuck in the sand.

What followed was quite unexpected for the eagle, because the crocodile took advantage of the opportunity and pounced on the bird with its mouth wide open, forcing the bird to give up its meal.

Although the eagle tried his best to outsmart the crocodile, in the end he was simply relieved to have escaped.
