Raid on the Justice of the Peace in St. Marys | Crime

ST. MARYS – Preliminary hearings and further proceedings were held Sept. 3 in St. Marys with District Judge Mark Jacob presiding.

Hearings were waived

The following defendants have waived their right to a preliminary hearing and will be formally arraigned in the Elk County Court of Common Pleas for further proceedings.

  • Jacob Paul Curtis Coles, 29, of Braddock, is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance (DUI) – first offense – and traffic violations. Bail was set at $5,000.
  • Jordan David Peters, 26, of Curwensville, is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance (DUI) – first offense – and traffic violations. Bail was set at $5,000.
  • Lainey Starr Spaid, 33, of St. Marys, is charged with using lewd, lascivious, threatening or obscene language, a first-degree misdemeanor. Bail was set at $5,000.

Continuation of the hearings

  • Logan Douglas Schloder, 31, of Huntingdon, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance (DUI) – first offense – and one misdemeanor count of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Nathan James Hummel, 27, of Johnsonburg, is charged with one count of conspiracy – possession of a controlled substance; one count of conspiracy – use/possession of drug paraphernalia; and he has citations for a traffic violation.
  • Matthew R. Geyer, 37, of St. Marys, is charged with accessing a device issued to another person without that person's authorization (third-degree felony); accessing a known counterfeit device (third-degree misdemeanor); and theft by unauthorized taking – movable property (first-degree misdemeanor). Bail was set at $7,500.
