Watch the moving new video of Kate Middleton, Prince William and their children George, Charlotte and Louis

Today Kate Middleton announced exciting news: she has completed her preventative chemotherapy.

The news was announced in a three-minute video filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk last month. The footage (above) shows the Prince and Princess of Wales outside with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – playing cards, climbing logs and running through a field and along the beach. There is also a moment where the Wales family can be seen alongside Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

The video is intended to show how Kate draws strength from her family and loved ones. Terms and Conditions understands, and spending her time doing things that bring her joy, including being out in nature.

“Summer is coming to an end and I can't tell you what a relief it is to finally have finished my chemotherapy,” Kate says in a voiceover. “The last nine months have been incredibly hard on us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we've had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and unknown path. Cancer is complex, scary and unpredictable for anyone, especially those closest to you. Humility also makes you confront your own vulnerabilities in ways you've never considered before and gives you a new perspective on everything.”

She continues: “More than anything, this time has reminded William and I to reflect on and be grateful for the simple but important things in life that so many of us often take for granted. Simply loving and being loved. My focus now is to do everything I can to stay cancer free. Although I have completed chemotherapy, my road to healing and full recovery is a long one and I must continue to take each day as it comes. However, I am looking forward to getting back to work and taking on a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”

The Princess continued: “Despite everything that has happened before, I begin this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life. William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn much strength from all those helping us during this time. We have been truly humbled by the kindness, compassion and empathy shown by everyone. To everyone continuing their own cancer journey – I stand with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of the darkness can come light, so let that light shine brightly.”
