According to Sioux City police, a suspicious death occurred on Saturday

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Sioux City police are investigating a “suspicious death” after responding to a report of an unconscious woman.

Sioux City Police said that at approximately 9:12 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, emergency personnel were dispatched to 1005 Sully Road and found an unconscious 35-year-old woman. She was transported to a Sioux City hospital where she later died.

According to police, initial investigations revealed that the woman's death was suspicious and a possible murder investigation was launched.

During the police investigation, it was determined that 1005 Sully Road was outside of city limits and the case was turned over to the Woodbury County Sheriff's Office.

At this time, the woman has not been identified. The sheriff's office told KTIV they are awaiting the results of the woman's autopsy and confirmed they are investigating the case as a suspicious death.
