Aaron Rodgers had high hopes last season: He wanted to lead the Jets back to the playoffs and get back to his MVP form. But all that ended after just four plays in the season opener when he tore his Achilles tendon and was out for the rest of the year.

With Rodgers out, New York's hopes of winning a title ended. This year, Jets fans are hoping that a healthy star quarterback can secure them a spot in the Super Bowl.

The 49ers will be a tough first test for Rodgers. San Francisco, also a title contender, has one of the best defenses in the league with Nick Bosa and Javon Hargrave. They are also well-positioned on offense with quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Christian McCaffrey and receivers Deeboo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk, who just signed a new contract to stay in San Francisco.
