Two people arrested for drug offenses in Kemper County

KEMPER COUNTY, Mississippi (WTOK) – Robert Mark Holcombe and Lullie Bufford Scott have both been charged with drug offenses, according to Kemper County Sheriff James Moore.

Robert Mark Holcombe was involved in a car crash on Highways 16 and 493 in Dekalb on Sept. 7. Moore says after investigating the crash, Holcombe was arrested by MHP for drunk driving. Holcombe is now charged with one felony and four misdemeanors.

He is charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (clonazepam), possession of a controlled substance (alprazolam), possession of paraphernalia, and possession of paraphernalia.

Holcombe must post a total bail of $65,000.

Lullie Bufford Scott was arrested on September 7th following a security stop on Highway 495 North. Sheriff Moore says a strong odor of marijuana was noticed during the stop. Officers then requested a search of Scott. Scott told officers he had a gun on him and when he removed the gun, a small bag of methamphetamine was discovered in his pocket, as well as a bag of cocaine.

Scott now faces two serious felony charges: possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Scott is required to post a total bail of $100,000.

Court dates for both men are scheduled for March 2025.
