It's not often that an NFL game ends with a score never seen before in league history, but that's exactly what the Jets and 49ers gave us on Monday night in San Francisco.

In the final quarter of the 49ers' victory, the only real drama was whether the two teams would pull off a scorigami together, meaning a game would end with an unprecedented final score.

With 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the 49ers led 32-13, and if that had been the final score, it wouldn't have been Skorigami. But with 25 seconds left, Tyrod Taylor threw a touchdown pass to Allen Lazard that made the score 32-19. The Jets then failed in their attempt to score a two-point conversion, which was notable because it was the first time in NFL history that a game ended with the exact score of 32-19.

As you can see above, this is the 1,085th unique final score in NFL history.

If the Jets had converted their two-point conversion at the end, the game would NOT have been a scorching heat, as 32-21 scores have happened many times in NFL history. The failed two-point shot was the second time in the game that the Jets came away empty-handed on a two-point conversion.

This is the EIGHTH time under Kyle Shanahan that the 49ers have been involved in a scorigami, although it hasn't happened recently. Before Monday, the last time the 49ers had a scorigami was in September 2020 when they beat the Giants 36-9.

This is only the second time the Jets have been involved in a skorigami since 2015. The last time this happened was in November 2021 in a 45-30 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

This is the second year in a row that there was a Scorigami in Week 1. There were nine Scorigamis in total in the 2023 season, but with each new result making them harder to achieve, it would be surprising if we reached nine or more in the 2024 season.
