After spending the offseason with the Carolina Panthers before being released earlier this month, linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson has reportedly found a new home.

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Raiders are expected to sign Chaisson because edge rushers Tyree Wilson and Malcolm Koonce are injured.

Chaisson was selected No. 20 in the 2020 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who acquired the selection in a trade involving star cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams.

After making 19 tackles as a rookie, Chaisson recorded a career-high 31 tackles during the 2021 season. Unfortunately, he missed eight games during the 2022 season after being placed on the injured list with a knee injury. The Jaguars opted not to exercise the five-year option in Chaisson's rookie contract before the 2023 season, and he finished the season with 13 tackles and two sacks while appearing in all 17 games last season.

Chaisson signed with the Panthers in March and appeared in two of three preseason games, playing 29 snaps on defense and making one tackle. The team released him on September 3.

The Raiders suffered a 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in their season opener. The team's defense allowed 176 yards in Week 1, the fourth-highest total in the league.

Las Vegas hopes the addition of Chaisson will help address some of the team's defensive weaknesses. The Raiders will look to rebound when they face the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
