Netherlands vs Germany: GOOOAAAL! Undav scores to make it 1-1!

38' – GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Undav scores to make it 1-1!

2' – Goal. What the hell was that? Germany is already 1-0 down.

Start: We are on the way!

One hour left until kick-off: We have the lineups! It seems that Julian Nagelsmann has named Deniz Undav in the starting eleven as a replacement for the injured Niclas Füllkrug, but otherwise the lineup remains unchanged from the 5-0 win against Hungary.

Germany are back in good form, but is that enough to beat anyone decent? Well, if they can beat the Netherlands tonight, that would go a long way to removing any doubts.

Julian Nagelsmann seems to have cracked the code, which seems to be to limit Bayern's influence on his team as much as possible. Sure, Jamal Musiala is still there, and Joshua Kimmich is still captain – but two regulars and four players in total are a far cry from the 2014 World Cup-winning team. If the good performances continue in this “new era”, however, no one will complain. It's been a long time since the Germans were really good.

In case you missed it, France Football has left Jamal Musiala out of the Ballon d'Or top 30, causing fury among fans and Bayern Munich officials alike. If you want to know why this is such a big deal, we covered it in our latest podcast episode, along with a discussion of Florian Wirtz vs. Paul Wanner and who Bayern Munich should sign first.
