Casey Affleck stars in Zach Bryan's “Oak Island” video

The actor stars in the clip for “Oak Island” from the country artist's latest album. The great American bar scene

Zack Bryan's Ballad “Oak Island,” a story of brotherly love and strife, has a new music video starring Casey Affleck.

The visual fits the song's story about two brothers going down different paths, with one trying to save the other from making a potentially devastating mistake. The video begins with Affleck repeatedly calling his brother, played by Jack Martin, and leaving voicemails that go unanswered. Meanwhile, Affleck's character cares for their ailing mother and works his difficult factory job until he finally spots Martin in a bar one night, drags him home, gives him a stern telling off, and then goes off to beat up one of Martin's shady accomplices.

But unsurprisingly, that doesn't help much. The clip ends with a dramatic chase scene as Affleck tries to hunt down Martin one last time, though there's no concrete resolution—just the two brothers staring at each other from opposite sides of the street as flashbacks to their childhood together pop up.

Bryan wrote the story for the “Oak Island” video with his girlfriend, podcaster Brianna Lapaglia. It was directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen, who has directed several Bryan clips, including “Nine Ball” – starring Matthew McConaughey -, “Oklahoma Smokeshow” and “Boys of Faith.”
