Caleb Graves left a haunting video before his death at the Disney Half Marathon

A day before 35-year-old TikToker and avid runner Bobby “Caleb” Graves died on Sunday after completing the Disney Half Marathon, he posted a now-haunting video expressing his fear of the heat.

“The Disneyland Half Marathon – the Halloween Half Marathon – is tomorrow, and I'm a little worried right now,” he began in a clip to his more than 20,000 followers.

He said he had gone for a walk with his dog the previous day at around 2 p.m., “probably the hottest time of the day,” with temperatures around 30 degrees.

“I'm a little sensitive to heat, I don't know if it's temporary or permanent,” he said, explaining that it feels different than the Texas heat where he grew up.

“I was outside for about 20 minutes walking my dog. It was hot, but I was fine,” he continued. “Then about 10 minutes after I came back inside, I just passed out. Fell asleep. No control of my body. It was heat exhaustion.”

It bothered him enough to wonder how he would “survive” the race the next morning, but not enough to stop him from running.

In the caption of another video of him picking up his race number, he wished other runners good luck and wrote: “Make sure you stay hydrated and listen to your body.”

He made it, but right after he crossed the finish line at around 7 a.m., his luck deserted him.

“As soon as he crossed the finish line, he started clutching his chest,” Anaheim Police Sergeant Matt Sutter told People. “One of the workers noticed, ran over and caught him before he collapsed.”

Doctors present at the race immediately began treating Graves and continued for an hour, Sutter said. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The runner and trial attorney had no known medical conditions before the race, Sutter told the Los Angeles Times.

The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner's Department is currently investigating. It is not yet clear whether heat played a role, although temperatures in the Los Angeles area have risen above 100 degrees during the current Southern California heat wave.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss and our thoughts are with Caleb's family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Jessica Good told Entertainment Weekly.
