Six people injured in car accident

Turlock police are investigating a car crash that left six people hospitalized early Monday morning.

The investigation is ongoing, but few details have been released.

The collision occurred around 4 a.m. Monday in the 3200 block of Fulkerth Road, where the Amazon fulfillment center is located.

Initially, the report said that a sedan had overturned, possibly causing injuries.

When Turlock police and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found that the vehicle had not overturned but had struck a tree.

There were six people in the vehicle, all of whom suffered minor to serious injuries, said Turlock police spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

All six people were taken to nearby hospitals. Their condition is currently unknown.

The cause of the collision is not yet known, but Sanchez said speed played a role.
