Voter accuses Harris of “race-baiting” and “scaremongering” during debate

A voter who participated in the Fox News Digital panel reacted to the debate, sharply criticizing Vice President Kamala Harris for her rhetoric toward former President Donald Trump.

“Race-baiting and fear-mongering were a big part of her tactics tonight,” one voter on the panel said of Harris' performance during the debate.

The comment comes after Trump and Harris faced off in what may be the only debate between the two candidates before Election Day in November, beginning the final stretch of a campaign that is expected to end in a razor-thin result.

But one voter was not impressed by Harris' rhetoric.

When asked to name a specific incident during the debate in which Harris had “racially provoked” Trump, the voter referred to her comments about the “Central Park Five.”

“I think this is a sensitive issue, especially for a lot of African Americans, but she leaves out a lot of details about it,” the voter said, “like the fact that the lead prosecutor at the time was a Democrat,” the voter said.

Trump says he “probably got a bullet in the head” because of Democrats' rhetoric

The voter was referring to a part of the debate in which Harris accused Trump of having a long history of championing racism. She pointed out that his family's company was investigated decades ago for allegedly deliberately refusing to rent to black people. She also mentioned that Trump had called for the death penalty for the “Central Park Five,” who were falsely accused of raping a jogger in Manhattan in 1989.

“I think he was manipulated throughout the entire debate, and that's probably why he was so defensive,” the voter said. “Even when he brought up the issue of race, he brought it up because she's pandering, she's using blackness as a stereotype to get black votes.”

The voter concluded by arguing that Harris had never agreed to a plan for black voters, although she would have liked to hear the vice president speak on the issue.

“I would have liked her to invoke the fact that she is a black woman and that this is her plan for black America,” the voter continued. “But she obviously has no plan because she is not black at heart.”
