Polk County woman wins $1 million scratch-off ticket at Publix

A Polk County woman now has some extra spending money.

Mary Curatolo of Haines City spent $20 on a $5,000,000 Triple Match scratch-off ticket in January and won a whopping $1 million prize, the Florida Lottery announced last week.

Curatolo opted for the one-time lump sum payout of $664,198.00. According to lottery data, she was one of only five people to win a million dollars playing the game this year, out of eight million dollar winners since its debut in 2023. Six people have won $5 million so far.

She bought her ticket at Publix at 617 U.S. Highway 17-92 in Haines City. The retailer received a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning ticket, lottery officials said.
