Pedestrian injured in accident in Rutland, police said

A section of a major thoroughfare in Rutland is closed Wednesday after a pedestrian was injured in an early morning crash. The City of Rutland Police Department said it was notified that a person was injured after a crash on Woodstock Avenue near Gleason Road around 5 a.m. Police went to the scene and treated the person before transporting him to Rutland Regional Medical Center for further care. The person, whose identity has not been released, was transported to the University of Vermont Medical Center for further treatment. Police are actively investigating the incident and Woodstock Avenue is closed from Stratton Road to Gleason Road until further notice.
