Jeff Wilson Jr. and Jaylen Wright's fantasy value rises with updates on De'Von Achane and Raheem Mostert's injuries

UPDATE: According to Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, Raheem Mostert will be out for the Dolphins' game against the Bills on Thursday night. McDaniel said, “We'll see how it goes” regarding RB De'Von Achane. His substitution will not be decided until shortly before the start of the game. What follows is the original report from Tuesday afternoon.

For the second straight day, neither De'Von Achane (ankle) nor Raheem Mostert (chest) practiced. That's not good news for the Miami Dolphins or any fantasy football manager who has either of them on their roster in Week 2.

For those who paid attention in Week 1, however, this isn't a total surprise. There were questions about whether Mostert and Achane sustained injuries in Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars after not being able to make much of an impact on the ground.

Achane only ran the ball 10 times for 24 yards, averaging just 2.4 yards per carry. Mostert was even worse, managing 9 yards on 6 attempts for 1.5 yards per carry. Achane salvaged his fantasy day by scoring a touchdown and completing all 7 of his passes for 76 yards. Those who used Mostert were not so lucky. Maybe the Jaguars defense is just that good, but it's more likely that both players were compromised in this game.

Further evidence that both players were not at full strength is that Jeff Wilson Jr. carried the ball five times later in the game. The veteran was the most efficient runner of the three, managing 26 yards on five carries, an average of more than five yards per carry.

We may also finally see Jaylen Wright's debut in Week 2 if Achane or Mostert (or both) are unable to play. Wright was inactive in Week 1 due to health issues, but fantasy managers would like to see him get his chance after an impressive preseason.

The Dolphins' fourth-round pick has the trait Mike McDaniels loves most: speed. He fits perfectly into this system and is probably just one injury away from his chance. In his first preseason game, Wright ran for 55 yards on ten carries and scored a touchdown.

Keep in mind that the Bills are not an easy opponent. In Week 1, they only allowed 63 yards to opposing runners.
