From Kamala wearing ‘headphones’ to ‘witchcraft’: MAGA fuels wild conspiracy theories about ‘rigged’ debate

After a heated debate between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, a flood of conspiracy theories erupted, largely driven by MAGA Supporters. The demands range from Harris from the use of secret headphones to accusations of supernatural manipulation. These wild allegations are flooding social media, with users sharing increasingly bizarre theories, all aimed at discrediting Harris and the debate itself.

“Putin would eat you for lunch”: Kamala Harris silences Donald Trump | US presidential debate

The most discussed claim revolves around the accusation that Harris wore high-tech earbuds disguised as pearl earrings during the debate. According to several MAGA supporters on X (formerly known as Twitter), the vice president's fancy earrings were not ordinary accessories, but Nova H1 earbuds – devices marketed as “the first and only wireless earbuds embedded in pearl earrings.” These claims were given a boost when one user tweeted, “CAUGHT! SHE'S WEARING EARBUDS EARRINGS” and posted side-by-side pictures of Harris' earrings and a prototype of the Nova H1 earbuds, pointing out the visual similarities. Another user chimed in, asking, “Is she wearing an earring with an audio device? Can anyone verify this?”

Despite these claims, fact-checkers on Twitter were quick to debunk the theory. A note attached to the viral post clarified that the Nova H1 earbuds are still in development and part of a Kickstarter campaign. It went on to explain that Harris' earrings were simple translucent pearls from luxury brand Tiffany & Co. and not high-tech devices. However, this did little to dampen conspiracy theorists' excitement. “This is GREAT if true. Of course she would be cheating,” one user insisted, while another speculated, “No wonder they want to mute the mics in between so she can hear the ear mic.”

Harris' team, which had called for open microphones during the debate, refuted claims that silent microphones were part of a secret conspiracy. Despite these refutations, the conspiracy persisted, and one Trump One supporter even admitted: “I'm on Team Trump, but it's not the same. That doesn't mean it can't happen, but it's not the same.”
As if the headphone allegations weren't enough, another conspiracy theory made the rounds, this time accusing Harris and the moderators of “witchcraft.” Prominent Trump supporter Lance Wallnau shared a post claiming the debate was influenced by “occult-empowered deception, manipulation and domination.” He described the moderators' questions as part of a supernatural conspiracy to ensure Harris' success, even suggesting that “something supernatural has to interrupt this fake dynamic.”

In addition to these outlandish theories, some MAGA supporters claimed the debate was rigged in Harris' favor. They claimed that the moderators had fed her questions beforehand, reinforcing the idea that the entire debate was designed to benefit the Democratic candidate. “The moderators are rigged. The questions are rigged. The TV executives are all friends with the Democrat on the stage,” argued one user, joining the growing chorus of voices questioning the integrity of the debate.
