Chappell Roan flew into a rage at a photographer on the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet on Wednesday night after she was apparently told to “shut up.”

“Shut up,” the “Good Luck, Babe” singer snapped back, adding, “Don't do that. Not me, bitch.”

The red-haired beauty seemed angry at the paparazzi, but it is still unclear what exactly prompted her to do so.

After the heated exchange, Roan told Entertainment Tonight that the carpet was “overwhelming” and “scary.”

“I think for someone who is very afraid of people yelling at them, the carpet is horrifying, and I yelled back. I yelled back, you can't yell at me like that,” she told the outlet.

A spokesperson for the singer did not immediately respond to our request for comment.

Roan, 26, made her big debut at the VMAs in a modern medieval look, consisting of a sheer dress in shades of purple and a mint green robe that she claimed was 300 years old.

The “Red Wine Supernova” singer accessorized with a giant cross necklace, dangling earrings, mesh arm warmers, extra-long metallic acrylic nails, and leg guards.

She even had an assistant dress up as a knight and roll out a 600-year-old vintage rug for her to walk on.

Roan — who is making her first VMAs appearance and is nominated for two awards, including Best New Artist — completed her daring look by carrying a sword.

The heated argument occurred between the pop star and her “demanding” fans who demanded photos with her.

“I don't care that abuse and harassment and stalking and so on is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little bit famous, whatever. I don't care that it's normal,” she said in a TikTok video last month.

Roan, who is currently navigating her sudden rise to fame, explained that just because “this crazy behavior” is normal does not mean it's okay for it to happen.

“That doesn't make it normal. That doesn't mean I want it, that doesn't mean I like it. I don't want whatever the hell you think you're entitled to when you see a celebrity,” she said.

“I don’t give a shit if you think it’s selfish of me to say no to a photo or your time or a hug – that’s not normal, that’s weird!”

Roan added that she finds it “fucking weird” that her fanbase thinks they know her because they “hear her art” and see her “online.”

“I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior, okay?” the “Hot To Go!” singer continued.

The hitmaker became an overnight sensation when she released her album “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” in 2023.
