Tyla Wears Makes Her 2024 MTV VMAs Debut in Neon String Dress

Tyla heats things up.

The “Water” singer lit up the red carpet at the 2024 MTV VMAs with her daring look on September 11.

The 22-year-old singer posed in a strapless neon yellow Peekaboo thong dress by Area Couture for Fall 2024. She paired it with turquoise panties that were visible through the cutouts for an even sexier look.

She accessorized the design, which also featured floor-length fringe at the back, with glittery pink Rene Caovilla pumps and equally colorful jewelry, including a selection of Fabergé rings.

For her glamour, Tyla opted for shimmery eyelids, accentuated lips, lots of blush and her natural curls. Thanks to a little body shimmer, she glowed in the light.

Tyla is one of the first-time artists nominated for a Moon Person, competing for the award in three categories including Best R&B and Best New Artist, and later took home the award for Best Afrobeats.

Since topping the charts with her nominated radio hit, Tyla has made a similar impact on the red carpet, trying out one stunning look after another.

At the 2024 Met Gala, she wore an innovative, sculpted Balmain dress made entirely of crystals and sand to embody the event's “Garden of Time” dress code.

After walking the carpet (although she was technically carried up the steps since her dress was so form-fitting!), Tyla and designer Olivier Rousteing left mouths open a second time when they transformed the floor-length gown into a sexy minidress at the event.

Tyla also wore a diamond manicure, which seemed to make everyday tasks (like eating!) a challenge, but to Tyla, it just made sense.

“It doesn't matter. It just looks cute!” she told PEOPLE. A fashion philosophy to live by.
