It's one of pop culture's biggest nights: the MTV Video Music Awards, or should we say “Voluptuous Megan Awards,” the name Megan Thee Stallion gave the show in honor of her first hosting gig. The red carpet was full of looks, and there were glam moments too. From Doechii wearing face tape for the ultimate red carpet facelift to Chappell Roan's extremely long chrome nails, here were some of the best beauty moments:

Red carpets are always the best opportunity to completely change your look and that's exactly what Megan did. She usually wears big, curly or long hair, but tonight she's wearing an asymmetrical bob with thick bangs. A domineering bob, made for a first-time presenter.

A red carpet wet hair look can either look stringy and a failure or this: effortlessly tousled with a glossy finish set with Goldwell StyleSign Extra Strong Hairspray. The style also worked beautifully with her Who Decides War dress, a barely-there distressed top that added to the cool edginess of the hairstyle.

Bailey looks like a classic beauty with her deep red lipstick that perfectly matches her complexion and her red sequin dress.

This hair inspiration could only come from one person: the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC, known for her unusual hairstyles. GloRilla's braided ponytails with circular shapes are a nod to Left Eye's braided hairstyle at the 2000 Soul Train Awards. Tonight isn't GloRilla's first time on a red carpet to honor Left Eye, and she always does it well.

Carpenter's signature bangs received a glamorous Hollywood makeover. From the dramatic volume of her curls to her glossy red lips, flushed cheeks and “pin-up lashes,” she achieved a dreamy '60s-style glamour that was the best on the carpet, according to her makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez.

Roan literally brought a sword to the carpet, but her extra-long chrome nails wrapped around the sword were a moment. Her manicurist Juan Alvear used Gel-X extra-Extra-long lace and incorporated pearl accents, the perfect accessory to Roan's transparent dress.

Doechii's aesthetic often includes a drastically tightened face due to her uncompromising use of facial tape. She has worn it in shoots and photos, but never on a red carpet. There's a first time for everything, right?

Flo Milli is used to playing with colorful hair. She's done everything from purple to bright red to blonde, but this shade of deep red hair seems like the perfect way to kick off the fall season.

Slicked-back hair gives the face a very special shine. Jones looked angelic with the shiny short haircut. Her hairdresser Davontae Washington described it as “sleek, bold and confident”. She owes the shiny finish to the light shine of Eco Style.
