Crime Stoppers: Searching for a break room bandit | Local News

This week we're calling our suspect the “Break Room Bandit” because of the manner in which investigators say she committed her criminal act.

“She robbed the store and used the credit cards fraudulently,” said Chattanooga Police Sgt. Victor Miller. “So there could be multiple charges these are from this one case.”

Here are some details. This woman is said to have entered a restricted area of a store in the Hamilton Place Mall. “She is very stealthy,” Miller said, “and is trying to sneak through to make sure the staff aren’t there until she walks in the door.”

She appears to be a black woman. Have a look at her hair, her clothes and her baseball cap. “She went into the employee break room,” Sgt. Miller continued, “searched through the employees' belongings while they were not there, took a debit card and then went shopping.”

Several stores were involved. Thanks to cleverly placed surveillance cameras at Target, we can see a tattoo on her right forearm that may give her away.

“So if you have any information about her, where she works or anything like that, that could help us identify her,” Miller said. “Or maybe you don't know her name, but other things that could help identify her: what street she lives on, what type of vehicle she has, anything like that will help the investigation.”

For your good tip, you can receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 and you will remain anonymous.

“No one will ever know you called,” Sergeant Miller said. “Even if it's a friend or family member, if you've known her for a long time, maybe went to high school with her, who knows, she'll never know you called.”
