Sister confirms death of James Hollcroft

The “Como dice el dicho” star was last seen on September 3 near his home in Mexico City.

Actor James Hollcroft was found dead after disappearing in Mexico City on September 3. In a heartbreaking update shared on Instagram on Friday, September 6, Hollcroft’s sister Jane Hollcroft revealed that the How do I say this? (As the saying goes) star was found dead. He was 26 years old. Hollcroft's cause of death was not disclosed.

“I will love you forever, thank you for the years we spent together and for giving me the greatest moments,” Jane wrote in a translated post. “You will always be in our hearts little brother.”

This tragic news comes after Hollcroft was last seen near his home in Mexico City on September 3 while returning to his residence in Tizapán. Hollcroft was studying at the nearby Center for Artistic Training run by Televisa, one of Mexico's leading media companies. According to his sister, the actor has not been seen or heard from since then.

Local authorities and Hollcroft's family have not released any further information about his disappearance or cause of death. His death was also confirmed by the Artistic Education Centre, which paid tribute to him on Facebook.

“Thank you for all the wonderful times we spent together during your acting training,” the school said. “We will carry you in our memories and in our hearts. You will always be a part of our CEA family. Farewell, dear James Hollcroft.”

Hollcroft's brother-in-law Arturo Avila Meija also paid tribute, writing on Instagram: “I wish it was all just another dream. Thank you for being the brother you were, the uncle you were with your nephews, the amazing son you were. We will miss you very much, this truly breaks my heart. Today we lower the curtain here, but I know you are in heaven making that amazing production you talked so much about. I love you little brother, I will always carry you in my heart.”

Hollcroft was best known for his leading role in How do I say this?a Mexican anthology drama series that recreates stories and situations similar to common sayings in pop culture. According to the Mirror, he also had a role in season 11 of Dime queue si (tell me yes)which is currently in its 16th season.
