Unless you live a secluded life, you've probably come across a lot of speculation about Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello since the “Espresso” star released her sixth studio album. While Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes' on-off relationship has been the subject of fan speculation for years, the rumor mill is spinning faster than ever as fans try to parse clues seemingly dropped in new songs by not only Carpenter, but Cabello as well. And of course, it all points to Mendes – at least according to fan theories.

Although neither star has publicly commented on or confirmed the alleged love triangle, Carpenter recently admitted that she understands “why people care,” pointing to the inspirations behind her songs. “They can listen to my album and decide for themselves what the songs are about,” she recently said. B. And that's exactly what people did.

September 11, 2024: Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes will all attend the 2024 VMAs

Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes were all selected by MTV to perform at the 2024 VMAs. Carpenter performed a medley of “Please Please Please,” “Taste,” and “Espresso” by Short and sweetCabello played a medley of “Godspeed” and “June Gloom” by C, XOXO and its deluxe version, while Mendes performed his new single “Nobody Knows,” his first televised performance from his upcoming album of the same name.

Aside from the stunning performances, it's the VMAs that have given us unforgettable celebrity interactions. Of course, we were on the lookout for the trio's big night, but we didn't get to interact. Still, the song selection was enough to get people talking online, and the same went for the outfits the trio wore on the red carpet. Many noted that they bore a striking resemblance to the “Taste” music video, particularly that Cabello had black hair again.
