Carlisle man arrested on multiple drug charges in connection with fatal overdose

Barry Monismith Jr., 33, is charged with multiple counts, including drug delivery resulting in death, after Carlisle police investigated a fatal overdose earlier this year. The incident occurred on March 16, 2024, when officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of Arch Street to investigate a death.

Authorities determined that the victim died of a drug overdose. The investigation revealed that Monismith went to the victim's residence and sold him the drugs that led to his death. In addition to the charge of drug delivery resulting in death, Monismith is also charged with possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility, and involuntary manslaughter.

Monismith, who is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Jail to await a preliminary hearing.

The arrest was made on September 11, 2024, with the case classified under drug and narcotics violations. Monismith's case is now part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes in the community.
