Prince William and Kate Middleton take an important step for the good of the monarchy

Prince William and Kate follow in Harry and Meghan's footsteps to save the monarchy

Despite their disagreements with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Prince William and Kate Middleton take a strikingly similar approach towards the Sussexes.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are often criticised for their media presence and attacks on the royal family, which has also deepened the rift between them and the Welsh people.

While the Prince and Princess of Wales broke an important tradition by announcing Kate's positive health status, a royal expert claims that William and Kate are no different.

“Kate and William are selling themselves just as ruthlessly and calculatingly as Harry and Meghan,” said journalist Tim Teeman The daily beast.

“The difference is that Harry and Meghan are standing at the till, ready to take your money (or not), while Kate and William are standing by, nervously thanking you for coming into the shop and ready to show you the way to the till if you, like, really want to.”

Teeman explained that “selling royalties is nothing new” as Queen Elizabeth II herself had already done it and so had then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

“They all do it with their ceremonies and rituals and palaces. The way this sale is done has changed over the years, but the intention is still the same,” he explained.

“This family wants the British public to continue to fund their existence.”

Kate and William released a glossy family video giving the public a rare glimpse of the Queen in an intimate setting as the Princess announced she was “cancer free.”

The commentator also said that members of the royal family would continue this practice and “continue to shell out tourist dollars” to “keep Charles and William and whoever comes along as their next heads of state.”
