Bears bring 8 players to tryouts on Tuesday

The Chicago Bears invited a number of players to a tryout at Halas Hall on Tuesday. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, The Bears practiced with eight players: wide receivers Kearis Jackson, Cornelius Johnson, Jordan Kerley and David Wallis, quarterback Gavin Hardison, cornerback Damarion Williams and tight ends Armani Rogers and Joel Wilson.

Half of the tryouts were wide receivers, which isn't surprising considering Rome Odunze could miss Week 2 with a knee sprain. Johnson is the most decorated of the four after his career at Michigan, while Jackson is the only player with NFL experience with the Tennessee Titans in 2023.

As for the other players, Williams and Rogers have NFL experience at their respective positions, while Hardison is a rookie quarterback who played for UTEP and Wilson has bounced around between practice squads.

Tryouts are nothing new in the NFL, and many of them take place early in the season as teams try to find prospects who can contribute throughout the year. It remains to be seen if any of these players will be signed to the practice squad or active roster.
