Dolphins RB De'Von Achane (ankle) in action against Bills on Thursday night

Even if it doesn't start at full speed, the Miami Dolphins backfield will still have a lot to offer.

Running back De'Von Achane is in action during the Dolphins' AFC East showdown against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night on Prime Video.

Achane's participation was questionable before Thursday due to an ankle injury, but he will not be on the sidelines for the Dolphins along with Raheem Mostert (chest).

Even if Achane does his best, veteran Jeff Wilson will likely get a significant role and speedy rookie Jaylen Wright, who was inactive in Week 1, will likely get a chance to contribute since the Dolphins are without Mostert.

In a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, the Fins as a team managed a meager 81 rushing yards, led by Wilson with 26 yards on five attempts, while Mostert was limited to nine yards on six attempts and Achane to 24 yards on ten attempts.

Miami will look to restore its running game against the defending AFC East champions, who allowed just 67 yards to running backs in last week's win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Although he struggled to shift into the next gear in the running game, Achane, who missed six games with shoulder and knee injuries as a rookie, was a boon to the passing game in Week 1, recording seven catches for 76 yards against the Jags.

Achane is a sprinter who averaged an incredible 7.8 yards per carry as a rookie and was on his way to 800 yards and eight touchdowns. His game-winning ability continues to provide explosive moments for the Dolphins' running game and passing game alike.

Mostert is out, but Achane will try his luck for the Fins (1-0), who begin their AFC East game against the Bills (1-0) tonight at 8:15 p.m.
