Dolphins player De'Von Achane can play in the opening game against the Bills after an ankle injury

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Running back De'Von Achane was able to play when the Dolphins faced the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East rivalry game on Thursday night.

Achane was questionable because he suffered an ankle injury in Miami's opener. He was on the field a few hours before kickoff for pregame warm-ups, running and dodging.

Running back Raheem Mostert was out on Wednesday with a chest injury. On Thursday morning, the Dolphins promoted receiver Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.

The Bills had already ruled out nickelback Taron Johnson, who is out indefinitely after injuring his right forearm in the opener against Arizona. Backup edge rusher Dawuane Smoot was also ruled out with a toe injury. He missed his second game. Linebackers Joe Andreessen and Edefuan Ulofoshio were also out.

Buffalo has called up defensive end Kingsley Jonathan from the practice squad.
