One person injured after shooting near public park in Perry

PERRY, Fla. (WCTV) – One person was injured following a “shooting” Thursday night, according to a Facebook post from Perry police.

The shooting occurred near Gerald Walker Park on Warner Avenue, according to the post.

According to a Perry Police spokesperson, no further details about the incident will be released beyond the initial Facebook post, but an update may be available Friday morning.

The incident comes after gun threats against schools in Big Bend and South Georgia last week. Due to the numerous threats, schools in Taylor County have increased security measures this week.
