Muay Thai fight between Amy Pirnie and Shir Cohen added to ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas Vs. Eersel II

A women's atomweight Muay Thai bout with potential world title implications has been added to ONE Fight Night 25: Nicolas vs. Eersel II.

Rising contenders Amy Pirnie and Shir Cohen will face off live from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, October 4, during prime time in the United States.

Both Pirnie and Cohen have made a huge splash in the division during their short time in the world's largest combat sports organization.

Pirnie made her stunning introduction to ONE Championship last August at ONE Fight Night 24: Brooks vs. Balart, where she ended Yu Yau Pui's six-fight winning streak with a stunning one-punch knockout.

The 49-second show offered just a small glimpse into the Scottish star's skills, as she was added to ONE's roster to great acclaim following an impressive 30-fight streak that saw her dominate the striking scene in several countries.

During this time, the 31-year-old secured the Lion Fight super flyweight championship, an ISKA flyweight world title and a WBC international Muay Thai title, establishing herself as one of the best fighters in the world.

Now Pirnie has Cohen in his sights to break into the world stage, but Cohen has also made a brilliant start under the ONE spotlight.

The talented Israeli athlete destroyed Teodora Kirilova in her debut at ONE Fight Night 20: Todd vs. Phetjeeja in March, delivering a two-round assault that left the Bulgarian reeling before the referee mercifully intervened and stopped the fight.

Her razor-sharp hands were also visible in her second appearance. This time, the 23-year-old defeated Francisca Vera last August by unanimous decision.

Hailing from the star-studded Fairtex training facility in Pattaya, Thailand, Cohen shares the mats with a host of ONE's top female superstars, including history-making three-sport queen Stamp Fairtex and former ONE Women's Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Smilla Sundell.

A win on October 4 could give her the chance to add another 26-pound gold belt to her team's collection.

Whoever emerges victorious from the newly announced showdown will likely take a huge step forward in the race for the ONE Women's Atomweight Muay Thai World Title and attract the full attention of reigning division queen Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.

With so much on the line, expect fireworks as two tough atomweight fighters square off and try to make a name for themselves as the next big stars in the division.

The Pirnie-Cohen clash is another part of a packed October 4 schedule that culminates in the highly anticipated ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title rematch between division ruler Alexis Nicolas and Lightweight Muay Thai king Regian Eersel.
