This week's Pet of the Day recaps and videos! Check them out!

Animal lovers! – Hello again and thank you for watching the recap and videos for this week's Featured Pet of the Day. This program was created to make people aware of the animals that are currently crowding shelters and rescues. This has been a big problem this past year. So far, animals have been featured by Ozarks Pet Rescue, City of Mountain Grove Animal Control, and City of West Plains Animal Care and Fostering Department. Some of these animals have been adopted and now have permanent homes. As shown in an article, Mountain Grove Animal Control is struggling with taking in new dogs and may be forced to euthanize their dogs if adoptions don't pick up. So if you have been following, please share the featured dogs and cats so we can help them. Below are the featured pets and videos of them. Thanks for sticking with this program!

On Monday we introduced another of the four puppies housed at West Plains Animal Care and Control. This little girl is a Boxer mix who is said to be about 8 weeks old. She is just as sweet as she looks. I knelt down in front of her to take pictures and she just wagged her tail and tried to lick my camera. Then she was all over my feet looking for cuddles and love. This little girl is not yet leashed but would love to be a lap dog in her first and forever home. She is smart and a fun pup. If you are interested in adopting this puppy and giving her a good first home, contact West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.

On Tuesday we featured this beautiful little girl. She is a 50 pound Labrador mix and is currently being kept at West Plains Animal Care and Control. She has been here since early May and is looking for a good and fun home. This girl is full of energy as you can see from the pictures. She loves to play and is trained to walk well on a leash. She gets along well with other dogs and loves human attention. She is very affectionate and listens to instructions before starting her playtime. She is a very happy and well behaved pup and hopes you will give her a permanent home. Guys, this is another girl with no name. What would you call her? If you are interested in adopting, contact West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.

On Wednesday we featured yet another of the four babies currently waiting for a home at West Plains Animal Care and Control. This little guy is an 8 week old Boxer mix. What do you call this little boy? He is a little more shy than his siblings. He warms up quickly, but he needs a few smells and slow steps to get him going. He is very curious, but it takes a while to satisfy his curiosity. I spent some time with him and he took about five minutes around me before he started playing and jumping around the lobby. This made it difficult to take a photo, but he has the most beautiful personality. The little boy is not yet used to a leash, but is probably just as eager to learn as any other puppy. If you are interested in giving this handsome boy his first permanent home, contact West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.

On Thursday we introduced a handsome little guy. (What would you call him? He doesn't currently have one!) He has been housed at West Plains Animal Care and Control since mid-August. The little guy is an 8-week-old boxer mix. He is a fun bundle of energy and loves people and other dogs. I don't know anything about cats. He is not on a leash yet, but I'm sure he will learn from his new owner. During the time I have spent with him, I have found that he is by far the most outgoing of his siblings. He loves to play and run in circles around visitors. He loves to show off his cuteness. This little guy would love for someone to pick him up and give him a permanent home. If you are interested in adopting the little boy, contact West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.

On Friday we featured this very happy, very smiling girl. She is a 38 pound red heeler mix who has been at West Plains Animal Care and Control since early May. One thing I can say about this dog is she has tons of energy. She walks really well on a leash, but if you let her off to play she is guaranteed to have the time of her life. She gets along well with other dogs and loves when people visit her. She gets so excited when people pet her and give her attention. What would you name this girl? If you are interested in giving this girl a good forever home, contact West Plains Animal Care and Control at 417-255-1860.
