Name announced after fatal motorcycle crash near Stevens Point

PORTAGE COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a motorcycle crash near Stevens Point on Thursday.

The driver of the motorcycle was 47-year-old Chad Feltz of Stevens Point.

The accident remains under investigation

PREVIOUS: One person is dead after a motorcycle crash near Stevens Point in Portage County.

Shortly before noon Thursday, Stevens Point Police, Stevens Point Fire Department, Portage County Sheriff's Office, City of Hull Fire Department and Portage County Coroner's Office responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Wilshire Boulevard at North Point Drive.

An investigation revealed that a 2022 Harley Davidson was traveling northbound when it left the road and crashed in the east ditch.

The motorcycle was driven by a 47-year-old man who died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. According to authorities, he was not wearing a helmet.

The accident remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol, with assistance from the Stevens Point Police Department and the Portage County Sheriff's Office.
