Raleigh County woman sentenced to prison for drug offenses

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) – A 29-year-old woman has been convicted of aiding and abetting the trafficking of methamphetamine, according to the Department of Justice.

In a press release, the Department of Justice said Ashley Nicole Luster of Sophia will spend eight months in prison on the drug charges, followed by three years of probation.

According to court documents and court testimony, Luster sold approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant at a Beckley apartment complex on July 13, 2022, while aided and abetted by her co-defendant, Angelo Johnson. Luster admitted that she handed over the controlled substances after Johnson took the money, the Justice Department said.

The Justice Department announced that Angelo Johnson, 29, of Beckley, was sentenced to three years and one month in prison, followed by three years of probation, in December 2023 after pleading guilty to aiding and abetting the distribution of methamphetamine.
