Texas Rangers get the latest proof that this is not 2023

The Texas Rangers scored four runs in this series, but the Arizona Diamondbacks scored 14 runs today.

It is at least somewhat darkly poetic that perhaps the least contested series for these Rangers in 2024 was a win against the team they easily beat in the last World Series.

They won't make it, because all I can do is look over at the framed Dallas Morning News photo from the day after the Rangers won their first World Series title that hangs on the wall to my left and smile. But this team is really doing everything it can to be the ultimate flop right after the ultimate triumph.

That's what the Texas Rangers are like on a spiritual level, I guess. We all knew what we were getting into when he hitched us to that wagon.
