Viewer information for “Good Day Atlanta”: September 13, 2024

ATLANTAArtworks by Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys at the High Museum:

Grammy winners Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys are known worldwide for their impressive art. But away from the stage and the recording studio, the superstar couple also collects great art – and now pieces from that collection are on display in Atlanta.

“Giants: Art from the Dean Collection by Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” opens today at the High Museum of Art and will remain on view through January 19, 2025. Organized by the Brooklyn Museum and premiered there earlier this year, “Giants” features nearly 100 works by African American, African and African-diasporic artists, all owned by Keys and Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean). Now those works have arrived at the High, the only venue in the Southeast to host the eclectic exhibition.

“Giants” is the collection’s first major exhibition and features paintings, photographs and sculptures by established and emerging artists (including Nick Cave, Amy Sherald and Ebony G. Patterson). The exhibition also features examples of the couple’s other collecting projects, from musical instruments to BMX bikes.

“Giants: Art from the Dean Collection by Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys” is included in the museum’s admission fee, which is $23.50 per person. The High Museum of Art is located at 1280 Peachtree Street Northeast and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. For more information about visiting the museum, click here.

Not only is today the opening day of Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys – it's also Swizz Beatz's birthday! So we decided to celebrate by spending the morning at the museum and getting a first look at this exciting exhibition – click on the video player in this article to watch it!
