Official: Real Madrid starting line-up against Real Sociedad | La Liga GW5

Real Madrid will play their first game after the international break in less than two hours when they face Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.

Ahead of the competition, coach Carlo Ancelotti announced the starting eleven that will face Imanol Alguacil's men.

Before the game, there was heated debate about which of the two could start in Real Madrid's midfield given the injury concerns: Brahim Diaz or Arda Guler.

And Ancelotti has opted to start with both players, possibly changing the formation to a 4-1-2-1-2, similar to the formation Real Madrid played last season.

In this case, Brahim could play the attacking midfield position, while Güler would act as one of the two central midfielders alongside Federico Valverde. Captain Luka Modrić would take the pivot position.

Alternatively, it could possibly be a 4-3-3 with Brahim on the right. Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. complete the rest of Real Madrid's attack, with Rodrygo Goes on the bench.

Eder Militao and Ferland Mendy start in defence after recovering from their respective injuries. Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rüdiger complete Real Madrid's defence, while Thibaut Courtois is in goal.
