Florida man allegedly operated an excavator while drunk

BUNNELL, Fla. (CBS12) — A man is accused of making threats while attempting to operate heavy machinery at a scrap yard.

Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) officers said they responded to a call regarding a verbal argument and threats against an intoxicated man.

Upon arrival, officers reported finding 62-year-old John Kastner behind the controls of an excavator.

The report states that observations showed that he was impaired and unable to operate the machinery safely.

Kastner was then charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
