Topeka man arrested for heroin possession during traffic stop Friday afternoon

TOPEKA, Kansas (WIBW) – A Topeka man was arrested for heroin possession during a traffic stop Friday afternoon.

According to Sheriff Brian C. Hill, a man is in custody and is facing charges of possession of heroin and illegal firearms following a traffic stop yesterday afternoon near SW Gage Boulevard and SW Interstate 470.

This occurred around 12:15 p.m. when a Shawnee County Sheriff's Office deputy stopped a white Chevrolet with an expired license plate in the 3100 block of SW Gage Boulevard.

During the investigation, illegal drugs and an illegally possessed firearm were seized.

Ex'zabre T. Boldridge-Smith, 35, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.

Boldridge-Smith was arrested on the following charges:

  • Criminal possession of weapons
  • Possession of opiates, opium, narcotics or certain stimulants
  • Use/possession of drug paraphernalia with the intention of introducing it into the human body
  • Possession of THC
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Operating a vehicle without registration or with an expired license plate
  • Obstruction of law enforcement

This incident is still under investigation.
