18-year-old man charged with triple murder in Luton high-rise

An 18-year-old man has been charged with murder after three people were found dead in a high-rise building in Luton on Friday.

Nicholas Prosper, of Leabank, was arrested on Friday morning after the bodies of a woman and two teenagers were discovered in a flat.

Bedfordshire Police said the victims are believed to be Juliana Prosper (48), Kyle Prosper (16) and Giselle Prosper (13) – all also from Leabank – but an official identification has not yet been made.

The suspect, who is also accused of several firearms law violations, is due to appear before Luton Magistrates' Court on September 16.

Officers were called to the Leabank block of flats in the Marsh Farm area of ​​Luton at around 05:30 BST on Friday and found three people with fatal injuries.

Bedfordshire Police said the 18-year-old was arrested shortly after calling police.

Police confirmed that a firearm was found during a search of the area.

Det Supt Rob Hall, of the region's criminal investigation department, said officers who arrived at the scene “encountered such horrific circumstances”.

He continued: “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the three people who unfortunately lost their lives yesterday and their families.

“Although formal identification has not yet been made, the next of kin of those presumed deceased have been informed and are being assisted by specialist officers.

“We would like to ask that you respect their privacy during this unimaginably difficult time.”

He added that officers would remain in the high-rise during the investigation.
